DAVID OXTABY

COVER YORKSHIRE A Different Perspective

David Oxtaby is an IT manager based in the Ilkley Moor area of West Yorkshire. David first picked up a camera when he was just seven years old and though it was blurry and out of focus, he remembers vividly enjoying seeing the print and was hooked from that moment on.

He took up photography seriously ten years ago after joining his local camera club. Seeing other members and speakers’ images enthused him to go out and try to capture a different angle of well-known places, trying different subjects and techniques.

David has sold his work all over the world, his striking images appearing in newspapers, magazines, as well as on TV.

He has won photographer of the year in The Dalesman and this year one of his photos was commended in the Landscape Photographer of the Year and appears in the volume number 14 of the annual awards book.

David is passionate about encouraging others to pick up a camera and go for a walk, look closely at the world around them and try to see things in a different perspective.
